E-learning module is intended to train candidates to provide elementary first aid on board ship, in accordance with Section A-VI/1 (Table VI/1-3) of the STCW Code.

E-learning module (ELM) is developed in accordance with IMO Model course 1.13 “ELEMENTARY FIRST AID” and Section A-VI/1 (Table VI/1-3) of the STCW Code to train candidates to provide elementary first aid on board ship.

ELM is an electronic textbook on one or more topics of special disciplines. Theoretical materials are accompanied with drawings, diagrams, photos, animations and videos. ELM includes a section for self-assessment.

E-learning module content:

  1. Assessment of needs of casualties and threats to own safety.
  2. Body Structure and Functions.
  3. Positioning of Casualty.
  4. The Unconscious Casualty.
  5. Resuscitation.
  6. Bleeding.
  7. Management of Shock.
  8. Burns and Scalds, and Accidents caused by Electricity Rescue.
  9. Transport of Casualty.
  10. Bandaging.
